Harley also had a high speed wobble that killed a police officer on 9 3 2002 according to north carolina news and observer. Harley does not advertise these things Rudy.

Dusty 2007-11-29	Head's » 1000cc sporty motor A big problem with the ironhead sporty motor is the high-dome pistons. Overall, they're still an OK engine, for the era. Of course, Harley Davidson engines now are so much better. That's just my opinion. You may want to talk to a mechanic to get their advice.

This flaw was said to reduce the value of the motorcycle. I don't know the results of the case. I assume the court threw it out.

In addition the engine is a two cylinder, with two valves per cylinder, pushrod V-twin. In case your wondering, the knucklehead was the second type of engine used by Harley-Davidson. When looking at a knucklehead engine, it will have round knobs on the valve cover resembling knuckles. This is how knucklehead engine got its name.

Boomer 2007-11-29	Head's » What years were the different Harely-Davidson engines in productivity? Yes, the flathead began in 1929 till 1936. Next came the knucklehead from 1936-1947. After that was the panhead from 1948-1965. Then the shovelhead from 1966-1985. Next the evolution from 1984-1999 and the Twin Cam from 1999 and on. Hope this helps.
