Harley Davidson VRSC Motorcycles

The VRSC (V-Twin Racing Street Custom) family launched in 2001 with a single model called the V-Rod. The V-Rod was introduced as Harley-Davidson’s first "Power Cruiser.”  It was designed to compete against the Japanese and American muscle bikes. The steel on steel design coupled with dark modern styling makes the VRSC look like a fearsome motorcycle.

One of the amazing features of the V-Rod was that it made use of the Revolution engine, which incorporates fuel injection, overhead cams, and liquid cooling. The V-Rod stands out from other Harley-Davidson motorcycles because it can be easily identified by the 60-degree V-Twin engine, as well as the radiator and the hydroformed frame members.

In 2008, Harley-Davidson included anti-lock braking systems as a factory installed option on all VRSC models.  Harley also increased the displacement of the stock engine, added a slipper clutch as standard equipment and offered anti-lock brakes as an option for the first time.

The new VRSC models come equipped with a liquid cooled 1250cc Revolution engine, as well as Brembo brakes and a twin vortex air scoop. You will also notice the exceptionally low ride height with the seat position only sitting between 25.2 and 26 inches. Some of you may not know this, but Harley Davidson received help from Porsche to assist in the design of the new V-Rod engine and incorporated liquid cooling for their engines.

Common VRSC features include mid-mounted foot pedals and a 180mm rear tire, as well its aggressive styling. The aggressive styling is a loved quality because the matching black wheel spoke, headlamps and its mid mounted controls makes you feel like this bike is talking serious business.
