Harley Davidson Softail Fatboy; Latest Reviews

Latest Reviews to help you decide if it’s the Right Bike for You!

Harley Davidson’s Fatboy is one of the most copied cruisers of all its models. The Softail range is built to resemble the old hard tail look but the chassis is modern.  It also offers the long body and the low height that are often considered the most appealing feature. The Softail Fatboy  is stylish, comfortable and fun to ride!

How does it Ride? The Fatboy is one if the most comfortable machines to ride.  It’s a relaxing experience as long as the speed of the Fatboy is under a certain range. The bike is more of a glider than anything else. It remains very steady with very little jerking, even on the rough alpine roads on which it has been tested.

This series was launched in 1984 and since then it has gained much popularity.  As many of you already know, the Fatboy model really came into popular focus after it was used in the famous movie Terminator where it was seen as the escape vehicle.

Recent Features and Reviews:

Recent Softtail Fatboy models from 2007 and 2008 have included some special features worth mentioning.  For starters, the special feature for the 2007 model is the new big air cooled twin engine. Not only did Harley Davidson add a six-speed cruise drive gear box, but also fuel injection for all the Softail models.  In addition to the engine, the 2007 model of Fatboy also offers the fatter back tire as well as a redesigned fender at the back. Lastly, the new Fatboy is wired internally to suit its sleek and stylish body.

When it comes to the 2008 model, most would agree that the biggest improvement is the centered front wheel. The '07 model's front wheel is centered in the fork, making it off center by about 3/4 inch. The 2008 model has fixed this problem.

The Fatboy now offers the 200mm rear tire, six speed and 96 engine. Compared to owning a Sportster or numerous larger bikes such as the; WideGlide, Street Bob, Fatboy and a V-Rod, the Fatboy gives you great handling and is fun to ride; while also allowing you to throw on some luggage and ride in comfort for long distances. Overall, the bike just looks and runs great! It’s easy to see why this bike is the most copied by bike manufacturers.
